Koh Lanta Island Explorer Tour
After pick up from the resort by comfortable air-conditioned minibus, this tour starts along the less used streets of Lanta’s eastern coast to see the local style of rubber farming and shrimp breeding.
A visit to the cock-fighting arena of a small village and a walk through a fruit plantation follows, before the margins of the extensive mangrove forests covering the area between Lanta's eastern coast and Lanta Noi Island are reached. A self-paddle canoe trip of approximately one hour leads through this ecologically significant biosphere and gives an insight into one of the mystic eco systems of the tropics.
After a walk through the main street of the former island capital with its wooden houses, lunch is served in a small restaurant with the view to off-shore islands.
The subsequent trip in an open boat leads along the coast passing the sea-gypsy village of Sang-ga-u, to arrive at the national park, that has been established at the southern tip of Lanta Island. There is time for swimming, relaxing or a climb up to the lighthouse.
Going on northwards, the boat passes many more beautiful beaches, to catch the minibus, where the rough streets end. Going on in air-conditioned comfort, a visit to the only orchid nursery on Lanta Island rounds off the 1-day island adventure, before returning to the resort.
